Minna-san, konnichi wa!
In this post, I’ll be giving a quick update for week one of Camp NaNoWriMo.
So let’s move on to today’s post. Ikou!
Thursday, April 1-Tuesday, April 6
This is my first time outlining a complete novel, and with that being said, I am still trying to figure out the best outlining method for me. Before the start of Camp NaNoWriMo, I would have to say that I completed about 60-65% of the outline.
I have the beginning and end down. I am still trying to defeat that sagging middle syndrome. So I ended up spending the first few days trying to beef up my outline.
Also note that for my first time participating in a NaNoWriMo writing event, I’ve decided to cut my word count down from the original NaNoWriMo word count length, so my goal is to write at least 25,000 words by the end of the month to give myself some extra time to outline and prep.
Wednesday, April 7-Friday, April 9
Now, starting Wednesday, April 7, I was able to get some words for Camp NaNo, though I am still trying to remember to log the words down as I go.
When it comes to writing as opposed to outlining, I am trying to write linearly, and I will develop my characters and finally defeat that sagging middle syndrome as I go along.
I have started writing the opening scene to Foreshadowed by Darkness and ended up with 500 words on my first day of writing.
On Thursday, April 8, I was able to get 705 words down, so now I am up to a total of 1205 words for Camp NaNo.
On Friday, April 9, I was able to get down 843 words, which brings me up to a total of 2,048 words. Hopefully, I will be able to catch up on my word count the following week.
So there you have it, my current progress for week one of Camp NaNoWriMo.
Sorry that this post came up a week later than anticipated, but I will be releasing my update for week 2 by the end of this week.
