Minna-san, konnichi wa!
I know that a missed a post last week. I was under the weather and have been hit with Spring allergies. Fun!!! So I thought that I would compensate with an extra post this week to make up for last week’s post.
So with that being said, in this post, I will discuss with you a brief update in regards to all facets of my writing and reading life and what my plans are as I have been blogging for about two months now, going on three.
And on that note, let’s move on to today’s post. Ikou!
When starting this blog, I wanted to start slow as I wasn’t sure what my schedule would be like or if I would be able to be consistent with my blog posts.
With that being said, I have been uploading blog posts on Fridays with the intent of sharing updates on my novel-writing process as well as sharing some tips and advice on writing in general.
However, I have expressed interest in reading and reviewing books for this blog and have reserved Mondays as a possible slot for my book reviews. But depending on how fast I read and how busy I am, I may not always be able to release a book review post every Monday.
But I decided and I hope to within the next week or so to come out with my first-ever book review post.
My Social Media
In regards to social media, I am trying to keep a consistent schedule with my social media posts as in trying to come up with what posts to upload on certain days and at certain times. I am still trying to figure out what works for me and I will be releasing a social media schedule soon, hopefully by next month, and I do have some ideas for social media posts and how I want my schedule to be.
Just to note, I am not super active on social media in general and I am not social media savvy, so I have been uploading on different days and at different times to see what works for me.
Before I decided to use social media to help promote my author platform and to keep in touch with fellow writers and readers, I used social media to keep in touch with friends and family, but I rarely updated my social media statuses and disappeared from the social media world.
My goal; however, is to be more active on social media, and to be more engaged in the writing community by playing games and uploading more posts.
I have talked about participating in Camp NaNoWriMo for the first time this year. And to give me some extra time to prepare for Camp NaNoWriMo, I cut in half the original NaNoWriMo word count to give myself some time for preparation and to catch up on my word count if I miss days writing.
So far, I am off to a rough start as I have not been writing much during the week. I have been feeling a little under the weather in addition to being hit with Spring allergies. It was a fun time for me.
Regardless, I will be uploading the weekly progress of my Camp NaNoWriMo writing days on this blog, so stay tuned.
I am sad to admit that I barely made a dent in my reading list for last month. But I do plan on redeeming myself this month. I will update my social media with current books that I will be reading for the month, and I do plan on reviewing them soon. A couple of books that I plan on reading next month are rereads, but the books that I am reading this month are new to me and I will be giving a first impression and leaving a review soon.
I will also be updating my TBR list for the year on this blog, which by the way, if you haven’t checked it out, The Cozy Alcove: Reading List is my reading list for the year and was my second post for this blog.
So stay tuned for a reading list update and for the release of my Moon Star Reviews in which I review books that I am currently reading and that are on my TBR lists.
So there you have it, an update to my reading, writing, and blogging life.
I am looking forward to continuing to share with you new posts, and progress updates for the foreseeable future as my blog post calendar is filled with ideas for the next several weeks.
If you want to stay up-to-date on new posts, including when I update on my WIPs, or when I begin reviewing books, then be sure to follow me or any of my social media links below.
I will be back with another post this Friday at 10:30 AM PST. So stay tuned!!!
