Welcome to My Blog! Want to Know More?

Minna-san, konnichi wa!

Welcome to my blogging home! My name is Marié and this is my first ever blog post.

Wow! I am so excited to be here. Starting a blog for me has only ever just came into fruition a couple of years ago.

And after a couple of years of research into how I can start a blog and what topics I feel I am qualified to talk about, I am here — all wonderstruck and doe-eyed and taking my first steps into this wonderful world of blogging.

Let’s Time Travel Back Nine Years

Let’s back up a few more years — say about 2012 — when I was visiting my family in Japan. I decided to open up my laptop and an idea came to me about a story I might find interesting if someone were to write it — oh wait!

This story is based on my interest in true crime shows and a bit into the unsolved mystery of the infamous Jack the Ripper case and is therefore set in nineteenth-century New York.

I had only ever gotten serious with this book project when I started taking creative writing courses back in 2017, and when I told people of my aspiration to become an author, I was told by some:

“Hey! If you love writing, then why don’t you start a blog?”

A blog? Hmmm…I never considered that.

What better way to write than to start a blog? And an even greater way to share my current work-in-progress.

About My Book Babies

So yes, my current main book project is the Foreshadowed Series, which you are more than welcome to monitor its progress located in the My Books tab on the menu bar. All I can say about it right now is that it’s a trilogy series with an overarching plot that extends throughout three books and is by far the oldest and most developed of my WIPs.

My second book project is the Evergloom Series. It is also a trilogy series; however, it’s more of an anthology where each book follows a different character set in the same world. This book takes place in modern-day Oregon.

The plots for The Serenia Chronicles and the Confessions of a Murderess are only just seeds as it still needs time to grow and develop as I have been trying to focus on my current book project, but I will continue to work on them when I get a chance.

If you would like to know more about any of my book projects, such as the age range, genre, a general blurb, and the progress of the book, then feel free to check them out, and I will continue to update them as my books develop.

Also, I am currently rewriting a play that I wrote for one of my creative writing classes. Be sure to check out its progress if you’re interested.

So, what can you expect from my blog?

For my blog, I will introduce you to my characters and snippets of the world my characters live in. I also want to do book reviews. And I may discuss my life as a writer. Maybe talk about my writing routine, or my writing fuel, or what keeps me happy and motivated to write.

And of course, if you have any ideas for me or if there is a specific content you wish to see that is related to writing, then please feel free to contact me.

If you want to know a little more about me and my interests, you can also check out my About Me page.

I created this post as an initial welcome post to all those who stumbled upon this blog and for those who want to know a little bit about me, what I do, and what the future of my blog entails.

I am just getting this blog started, so if you want updates on new posts, then feel free to follow my blog or any of my social media links below.

I will begin uploading every Friday at 10:30 AM PST starting this Friday. So stay tuned!!!

Let’s get to know each other.

Be sure to comment below and let me know at least one thing about you. It can be a hobby, favorite book/movie, where you’re from, what you’re passionate about. Are you a coffee or tea drinker? A cat or dog person? Both? Neither? If you’re a writer, what’s your preferred genre to write? Any current/upcoming WIPs?

If there’s more then one thing, feel free to tell me. There are no limits. The possibilities are endless.

Until next time, ja mata ne (see you later),
